Digstock Native Pit Dig — Just People, Dirt & Artifacts

No giveaways. No sponsors. No food trucks. No frills.

Just people, dirt, and artifacts.

That’s exactly what our Native Pit Digs are all about, and in December 2025, around 65 participants joined us once again on a 600-acre North Carolina farm that continues to amaze us.

This marked the fourth time Digstock has leased this property for Native American artifact hunting, and somehow, it just keeps giving.

Cold Weather, Wet Ground

As seems to be tradition with our December digs, participants arrived to bitter cold, wind, and eventually a drizzling rain. But once the pits started opening, nobody seemed to care much about the weather.

Nearly every participant who committed to digging pits recovered points—and most found more than one.

Several beautiful drills surfaced during the hunt as well, including one of our favorite finds of the entire event. A young participant digging alongside his father uncovered an incredible drill, and we were fortunate enough to watch it come out of the ground live.

The smile on his face said everything.

Another long time participant found her first complete and very well preserve bowl!

Moments like that are a reminder that these events aren't always about what comes out of the ground. Sometimes it's about what those discoveries do for the people who find them—the excitement, the memories, and in this case, a young boy sharing an experience with his father that we hope he'll remember for the rest of his life.

More Than Just Stone

Native artifacts weren't the only history still hiding beneath these 600 acres.

Despite the property having been detected numerous times over the years, colonial relics and old coins continued to surface. After four Digstock hunts here, this farm continues to prove that you can never completely know what is still waiting beneath your feet.

But our time here is almost over.

One Final Dig

December 2026 will mark Digstock's fifth—and final—return to this farm.

After that hunt, we will close this chapter for good. Whatever artifacts and colonial history remain beneath the soil when the final pit is filled will remain there.

So, if you've ever wanted to dig Native American artifacts, search these fields for colonial history, or simply experience one of our no-frills digs, this December is your last opportunity.

Tickets are live now. Once this one is over, we will never return to this property again.

One farm. One final hunt. One last chance to see what it gives up.

Keep digging.
